The Goat® Story
Goat® brand, headquartered in Maryland, was proudly established through volunteer efforts that raised college scholarship money for rising high school seniors headed to universities across the nation. Donating their time, culinary expertise and business acumen, Chauncey Woodland and Jon “JP” Parks eagerly accepted the laborious task of cleaning & seasoning the fish for their Men of Beechtree charity fish fry events in Maryland. Over the past 8 years, their efforts and their proprietary recipes have proven to be the linchpin to that charity organization’s overwhelming success. During each event, they noticed that the customer lines were growing tremendously, sometimes stretching down the block even in the scorching hot summer heat or in the rain. Patrons request more frequent fish fry events and many asked where they could buy the seasoning. Before long their events became known for having the best fried fish in their Prince Georges County, MD area.
The two owner’s previous award winning pit bbq background together made joining efforts with the fish fry events a no brainer. Chaucey’s many years in management and finance, managing almost a billion dollar federal government budget at one point and JP’s experience creating powerful advertisements for U.S. Congress, Senate and Presidential campaigns over a couple decades both helped them support their charity events AND develop their dynamic Goat® seasoning brand.
Today, they continue supporting their charity events, as they bring their products to market. Supplying restaurants big and small, including the highly popular franchise America’s Best Wings, their Goat® brand is quickly becoming a household name.
Whether you’re frying, baking, smoking or grilling your food, a little Goat® will absolutely make it scrumptious. After all Goat® does mean, “The greatest of all time!”
